Paralympics DreamRotary District 1240 Trust Fund cheque for £1000 is presented by District Governor Neil Muir to Archer Robert Shaw of Witham who has been invited to a qualifier competition at the end of June. Robert said he needed a new Bow to be in with a chance and due to the generosity of 1240 Rotarians he now has the opportunity of making his dream come true.
Robert has been invited to the Rio Games in 2016. Now aged 51 he has been an archer for 43 years and continued his training following a car accident on the M25 in 2009.The crash left him unable to walk properly and he lost the use of most of the right side of his body.
He said: "It has been a lifeline to me in so far as it helps me to rehabilitate and helps me get out and about,"
This presentation follows Bowman Robert being invited to talk about his sport at a Witham Rotary Club luncheon at The Rivenhall Hotel which generated much local publicity.

The Rotary Club of Witham meets at the Rivenhall HotelOn Tuesdays at 1.00pm (except when their is a month with a fifth Tuesday) then it is a 7.30pm evening meeting.
